Post-care:Post-chin surgery, a soft diet is essential for bone healing, gradually advancing to normal foods as tolerated. Maintain meticulous oral hygiene with prescribed rinses for intraoral incisions, and note that internal sutures are typically dissolvable. Elevate your head, apply cool compresses to manage swelling, and avoid strenuous activities for several weeks to promote optimal recovery.
Risks:Swelling, bruising, infection. Temporary or permanent numbness or altered sensation in the lower lip or chin due to nerve injury. Implant-related risks include displacement, rejection, extrusion, or bone erosion. Risks associated with anesthesia, bleeding, hematoma, seroma, poor wound healing, scarring, asymmetry, and unsatisfactory aesthetic results potentially requiring revision surgery.
